The Moore Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will be kicking off its 12th season with a Fall Showcase at the Owens Auditorium, Sandhills Community College on October 29, 2016. This short concert will begin at 7 PM and admission is free. It will feature performances by the woodwind ensemble, brass ensemble and string ensemble. The Moore Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) supports music education. Our scholarship program provides Moore County students an opportunity to advance their personal music goals, such as participation in summer camps, college programs, and private lessons.
Since beginning in 2005, the MPO has distributed over $30,000 in scholarship funds. Information about scholarships will be listed in local papers and distributed to local school music teachers throughout the school year.Read More
For this season, the MPO will be offering a special scholarship in memory of one of our members for an advanced woodwind or brass student to attend the UNCG summer music camp in the summer of 2017.
Applications for Scholarships will be posted in February 2017.
