About Us
In 2005, a small group of musicians began rehearsals at Southern Middle School and gave a Winter Performance at Pinecrest High School. This small group grew into the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra that will complete its third season in May with our Spring Concert on May 24th.

Should you, a relative, or friend have any previous experience playing a string, wind, or percussion instrument you are most welcome to join the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra.  We are a community orchestra consisting of amateur musicians who enjoy playing some interesting classical and pops music.  We have an open membership policy and require no auditions.  Please drop by a rehearsal to sit in for a fun evening of playing your instrument.

The Moore Philharmonic performs two major concerts, one in winter and one in the spring. The music selected reflects a wide variety of music styles and seeks to challenge the skills of the members. Past performances have included music by Bach, Beethoven and Bernstein as well of traditional Christmas selections for the winter concert. Last year, the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra held its first Concerto Competition where two students, Kaitlyn Johnson and Seren Lyerly, performed as soloists with the orchestra and one student, Adam Collins, premiered an original string quartet. This year, the orchestra will again host a Concerto Competition, hoping to feature the talents of at least one orchestra student and one band student.
